Christen Commers Smith Announces Candidacy for Randolph Superior Judge

[Union City, Indiana] – [June 2, 2025] – Christen Commers Smith, an attorney with fourteen

(14) years of experience in private practice, as a Public Defender, and as a Deputy Prosecutor,

today officially announced her candidacy for Randolph Superior Court Judge in the 2026

Election. Christen seeks to bring fairness, efficiency, and a commitment to justice to serve

citizens of Randolph County.

"I am excited to announce my candidacy for Superior Court Judge and offer my experience and

dedication to the people of Randolph County," said Commers Smith. "Throughout my career, I

have witnessed firsthand the profound impact our judicial system has on individuals, families,

and our community. My commitment is to uphold the law with integrity, ensure impartial justice,

and maintain a courtroom that is efficient, accessible and respectful for all."

Commers Smith brings a strong background to this critical role. She currently serves as Deputy

Prosecutor of Randolph County while maintaining her private practice, the Law Office of Christen

Commers Smith. Prior to serving as Deputy Prosecutor, she was a Public Defender in Randolph

County. Christen is also licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. Christen Commers Smith

has a proven track record of successfully handling complex cases and advocating for vulnerable

populations in multiple areas of law. She graduated from Valparaiso University Law School with

her Juris Doctor and a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University Bloomington.

As Judge, Commers Smith pledges to prioritize judicial efficiency to reduce case backlogs, to

apply the law fairly and consistently, and to ensure that the court system is accessible for all.

She is committed to ensuring that every person who enters the courtroom is treated respectfully

and with dignity.

Commers Smith is a long-time resident of Union City, Indiana and has been actively involved in

the County as a former member of the Union City Rotary Club and former board member of the

Community Foundation of Randolph County.
